How it works
From your call to the release record
This page tells your staff what to do when you use our storage: how to book, what to bring at delivery, what we record, how release works, and what sets the price.
Five steps
1. Call or send a request
Call (530) 455-5805 or use the form. Tell us the number of decedents, the expected length of each hold, and whether the case has seals or a case number. We confirm available space and a delivery time.
2. Deliver the decedent
Your staff, the agency or a transport provider that you authorize delivers the decedent at the agreed time. We do not provide transport as a primary service.
3. We record receipt
We record the identification, case number, tags, seals, documents, the delivering organization, the person who delivers and the time of receipt. You get a copy of the receipt record.
4. Controlled storage
The decedent goes to an assigned refrigerated position. We monitor and record the temperature. Access to the storage area is controlled, and we record each access.
5. Authorized release
The party with legal authority authorizes the release. We release to your staff or to the transport provider that you name, and we record who accepts custody, the date, the time and a signature.
What to bring at delivery

- Your case number or the agency's case number

Records we keep

The custody record
- 01
Receipt
An authorized party delivers the decedent. We record identification, case number, tags, seals, documents, the delivering organization and the time of receipt.
- 02
Controlled storage
The decedent goes to an assigned refrigerated position. Access to the storage area is controlled, and each access is recorded. Temperature is monitored and recorded.
- 03
Authorized release
We release only on authorization from the party with legal authority. The release record completes the custody history from receipt to release.
How storage is priced
We give each customer a quote. These four things set the price.
Length of stay
We quote by the day, by the week or for a longer period.
As needed or reserved
You can book space when you need it, when space is available. Or you can reserve a set number of positions under a contract, so space is ready when you call.
Volume
Tell us how many decedents you expect each month. A regular volume can have a contract rate.
What is not included
Transport is not included. Funeral services, embalming and disposition are not services we provide.
What we do not do
Funeral arrangements or services · Embalming · Cremation, burial or final disposition · Autopsies or forensic examinations · Routine removal or transport as a primary service.
